KJ-52 Seattle, WA...April 24, 2009...Last night in Nashville, 75 artists, songwriters and producers were celebrated during the 40th Annual GMA Dove Awards at the famed Grand Ole Opry House, which aired live on Gospel Music Channel. Among the winners and those honored last night were two BEC Recordings' artists KJ-52 and Seventh Day Slumber.

KJ-52 was awarded his fifth Dove Award with the category "Rap / Hip Hop Recorded Song" for his track "Do Yo Thang." This song is on KJ's last studio project The Yearbook, which garnered great reviews and fun feedback from fans. KJ-52 is currently putting the finishing touches on his next studio project due out this fall. For more information, blog updates, and twitter tweets go to www.kj52.com.

Seventh Day Slumber was honored last night with their first Dove Award and the label's first "Spanish Language Album" award. The winning album Rescatame means "Rescue Me," a sentiment that captures the lyrical content of SDS' songs, which talk about the healing power of Christ who delivered lead singer/writer, Joseph Rojas, from a life on the street stealing, dealing, and doing drugs. The band has recently released a worship project "Take Everything" in February. For more information, go to www.myspace.com/seventhdayslumber.

The label also had award presenters last night, which included Jeremy Camp, Phillip LaRue, Jadon Lavik, Seventh Day Slumber and Tooth & Nail Records' Children 18:3. BEC Recordings congratulates the winners, nominees and everyone involved making it a great GMA week.

About BEC Recordings:
Originally launched as a more commercially minded side of Tooth & Nail Records in 1997, BEC Recordings has since expanded with its own identity into one of the music industry's most celebrated imprints. BEC Recordings was placed on the map with artists such as Jeremy Camp, KJ-52, Kutless, and Falling Up, when the label began to receive significant CHR or AC radio attention. BEC artists soon became a staple at both formats. Outside of breaking through in multiple radio formats (a trend that continued with Hawk Nelson, Adie, Mainstay, Seventh Day Slumber, Telecast and many more) BEC also branched out to audiences from all walks of life, as evidenced by its increased presence in literally every facet of pop culture (including movie soundtracks, major retailer advertising campaigns and countless package tours). Come 2009, those trends continue with the aforementioned, along with viable newcomers to BEC, such as acclaimed tunesmith Bebo Norman, pop/acoustic artist Phillip LaRue plus pop/rocker Jaymes Reunion (all of whom Ebel hints are "destined to follow in the label pioneers footsteps").
